The Purpose of a Resume
The Purpose of a ResumeWith so many job listings available online, one may wonder what the purpose of a resume is. What are some of the other jobs, a resume may be used for?Resumes can be used in advertising and recruitment for companies, whether it is government or private, looking to hire new employees. A resume is not just about looking for a job, but a job is really not the purpose of the resume. It is about working for a company and how you would fit into that company's staff.A resume should contain unique information about you, some of which may be from your own experiences. An employer may see a resume, have no prior knowledge of you, but still want to hire you because of your experiences and skills.A resume also helps to attract interest in you. Because a resume is quite small, a potential employer has to see more than just the qualifications required to be hired. They need to know more about you, and how you would fit into their company culture.A resume is probably your only chance to discuss your education background, including school grades and records. If you have any degrees or professional experience, a resume is a great way to describe this and it will give your potential employer a chance to learn more about you, your interests, work ethic, and your abilities. Be as specific as possible on the resume, listing all of your educational information for example.Using a resume to get a job is not a trick, and it is not going to change the way your prospective employer views you. If you have a problem with that or do not want to be labeled as a 'trick'sleight of hand', then you should not use a resume. Your best option for getting hired is by doing your best in your resume and application.Having a strong resume will get you the interview you want, but if you are really interested in finding a job, then you need to get an actual job, without just a resume. Resumes are a great tool to get you out there and find that job you are searching for, but you sho uld use them for more than just listing your qualifications. Get out there and find your dream job and a great career.
